About using VPN

I've read about the rules that GMS server doesn't allow to use a 3rd party program such as VPN and it can lead to perma-ban
but I heard that if you use VPN from not restick region for reduce ping, then it's okay. refer to CM Kyrios's answer at the link below.

so i want to make sure that i won't get ban if i use VPN right ?
(i live in thailand and my region been unblock from restrickion region list about half year ago.)
PS. I'm planning to use exitlag or vpn4games due to my ping is very high

    While VPNs are not explicitly disallowed, Nexon Support suggests that you refrain from using them if possible because they can be associated with rulebreaking behavior. In addition, VPNs can interfere with and prevent support from helping with NX purchase issues, item guard removal, and item recovery.

    So while VPNs aren't against the rules, there is some risk as it's not supported behavior, so I cannot guarantee you an answer, sorry.

I don't know did the maple story gms know or not, their are a lot of people who play this server even their are not in eu or us so can vpn not be a reason to ban a player from the game?

  • VPN's are not allowed
    there is a list of countries that can access GMS
    afaik the only regions that cant access GMS are Russia, Vietnam and places that are covered by TMS, CMS, JMS, THMS, MSEA and KMS.
  • Yes, it's not many places that require VPN to play maplestory(or maybe GMS), but some still use, nexon they problably know some people use, mostly might be that doesn't like their own Maple version or just in places that can't play, a times people can get ban of this(which isn't that common i guess).
    There's not much to be done if people use, their own system can ban at times, not sure how, but vpn are mostly used by hackers so they don't get ip ban, it's more because of em than players.
