• 'it seems some folks believe' - I just rewrote what I had heard from Polish Navigon :) If my source is not telling me 100% truth, maybe the other one would be able to say about the differences between Polish and American 2100max's RAM capacity? (US 512MB and Polish 64MB)? :wink:
• US maps and software (6.5.0; 6.5.1, and 6.5.2a) with latest maps are less than 2gb. European maps are 2.06 gb before the MN software.
  You need a 4 GB card for full Europe updates (manual or fresh). You do not need more than 2GB for the North American map sets.

  I know that on the 8100T, the North America maps and MN software are 2.34GB needing a 4GB card which is what came with my unit. I checked and they are Q3 2008.

• I just downloaded the 3rd Quarter 2009 maps for the U.S. and Canada, and it (and the software) all barely fit onto the 2-gig card that came with my 7100 unit, with 30.5 MB of free space left over. I'm going to delete the maps for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico to free up some space and give it room to breathe.
• That's interesting because my Q3 update still doesn't have map info for Hawaii. Are you sure it's there for you delete??---because I would have loved to add it.
• My Q3_2009 update has Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. Have you checked by choosing a New Destination, Pick the state of HI or AK or a Canadian Providence with the state Tab and if it shows up then you have them.. or confirm you don't.
• Confirm no Hawaii. What model Navigon do you have? I have the 2200T. Before pulling up stakes, they had promised to have Hawaii for me. But my daughter's wedding in Maui came and went last week with me using Tom Tom on my HP PDA for GPS navigation. It worked for the most part, but I was hoping my Navigon would've been good to go.
• I have a 7200 so I get all the maps. Most low end units from most companies only have the lower 48 states.
• this information is no longer good, the new Q1 2010 maps for the US48 are telling me that my SD card is too small, its the 2gb stock model
• i have tried and tried each and every way that has been suggested to me in these forums and i cannot update to Q1 2010 with the stock 2 gig card on my 2100 max. I hope someone comes up with a fix or is it true, that i need to get 4 gig card?
• As cheap as a 4GB card is these days I would certainly give it a try.
• You have to have a 4gb card for the latest Q1-2010 update, it is just a bit larger than the Original Card that came with the unit, or your download did not install properly. I agree the 4gb card is cheap. I had the same problem and upgraded the card and it works fine and I checked the size of the download it was like 2.12gb and would not have worked with the Original card.
• I just did the update through Fresh and used the required 4GB card, borrowed from digital camera. It seems you need a 4GB card to perform the update but new maps easily fit on the original 2GB card. Just perform the update, copy and paste the new files to your computer's disk, then copy and paste them back to original 2GB card. The updated files are only 1.40GB according to properties in Windows Explorer.
  With that said, I only have the lower 48 and no Zagat..
• Like spyder63 said 4gb cards are cheap at any store,even Wal-mart, your
  better off to get it over with raether that all that goofing around. What are going to do when the next update comes. Enough said, buy the 4gb card and be done with it. That next update should be coming out in August.
• hi - i'm unable to install the 2010 Q1 update on my 8100T using a new 4G SD card. after installing the update on the new card, i keep getting a 'Fatal Error' message.
  Navigon responded to one of my emails, instructing me to perform a hard reset. I did that but still get the error.
  Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is, and how to correct it?
  the original card with the older maps still works. i'd prefer however to update to the newest maps.
  any help appreciated.

• I managed to install the complete maps of Europe having only the standard 1GB SD Card in my Navigon 4350Max Europe.
  The first time I tried to update the maps, it told me I could not install all of it because it would not fit. Then I deselected a couple of countries. But after the installation was finished I noticed I had a lot of free space available. It seemed that the maps were installed on the SD card as well as on the internal storage. Then I tried a second time to install all of Europe, and it worked! No extra cards required!

  I think you need to buy Navigon map updates or you can search google ,some people sell SD card with Navigon updated maps+software with a reasonable price.
