Lancing Steel Champion

The Steel Impale Champion excels at dealing Physical Damage and makes great use of the Impale mechanic while maintaining very respectable survivability throughout the leveling process up to and including the endgame.

That just shows how 'good' player you are if you can only reach 'early mapping' with Starkonja. Starkonja is totally viable for end game, even Uber Elder.

Wtf is wrong with you? Is Starkonya some Supporter-created item and you created it or what's wrong?
Yes, Starkonja is a cheap, solid choice for lifebased attack builds to start with. You can even wear it until the end of your journey.
But nontheless there are billions of better options to go for, like Delve-crafted +% Life rares.
Or an Abyssus for more damage, if you have enough phys mititgation.
Or an Essence of Insanity crafted Elder/Shaper helmet, if you also hit another support for pseudo 6-link.
Or Temple crafted rares.
Or veiled mod-crafted rares.
You see where it's going?
You can do uber Elder with a Quill Rain, does this mean, that Quill Rain is genereally a good bow? Hell no, it utter shit, except for a hand full of builds exploiting its mechanics.
Like I said, Starkonja can be used to start out with, but there is a plethora of better choices.

Starkonja is a prerolled rare, its pretty viable I think its days are numbered though with fossil helmets, a pristine + insert element/phys of your choice helmet is just straight better and is similarly easy to obtain.

Yeah, Stark used to be really good but it's completely outclassed with all the crazy rolls you can get on helmets nowadays. It's still a decent helm but nothing amazing.

Starkonja is an ok helmet for lifebased Critbuilds for early mapping. Granted. But for endgame? It's utter shit and ever will be.

You done looking foolish? This is so cringe : /

Glancing Steel seems a more appropriate name.
Shattering Steel can shotgun like nobody's business. I believe it puts Cleave on notice, which is sad because at least Cleave is an official melee skill.
But Lancing Steel? I'm still not sold. They could at least have given the main projectile innate piercing or something.

Go 2 handed with it, you'll be sold. It IS a 2h skill. It is underwhelming to dual wield but does metric shit tons of damage with a 2h. It needs it to front load impales.

Yeah, I was going to try that actually, but the dual wield thing needed a deeper look at the time. I also wanted to avoid Champion because Doing Things Differently is one of my more tenacious habits, so front loading Impale to me meant crits. Lots of crits.

Indeed. I'm going crit 2h :P. Not necessarily Starforge.the way things are looking a crafted rare sword.
